The handout provides an overview of key concepts and approaches of sustainable materials management, as reflected in the US EPA’s 2009 report,  Sustainable Materials Management: The Road Ahead. This visualization refines the graphics in the report by introducing a streamlined representation of material flows along the supply chain, correlated to approaches discussed in the report as appropriate to various stages in the supply chain.
